![]() ![]() ![]() Note: If the Ciphermail gateway was manually installed (i.e., not using the Virtual Appliance) the URL should probably be ciphermail. The administrator can login to the administration page by opening the following URL in a browser: (change the IP address to to match the address of the gateway). For installation instructions see the installation guide. 2 Setup This guide assumes that Ciphermail gateway has already been installed. Where applicable, it will be clearly indicated whether a feature is an enterprise only feature. Certain features are only available with the enterprise edition of the Ciphermail gateway. PDF documents can also contain attachments embedded within the encrypted PDF. The PDF standard allows PDF documents to be password encrypted. PDF encryption can be used as a light-weight alternative to S/MIME and OpenPGP. S/MIME and OpenPGP uses public key encryption (PKI) for encryption and signing. S/MIME and OpenPGP provides authentication, message integrity and non-repudiation and protection against message interception (using encryption). The Ciphermail gateway currently supports three encryption standards: S/MIME, OpenPGP and PDF encryption. is therefore only temporarily stored until it is forwarded to it s final destination. The gateway is typically installed as a store and forward server. Because the Ciphermail gateway functions as a general SMTP server, it is compatible with any existing infrastructure and can easily be placed before or after existing servers. ![]() Acknowledgements: Thanks goes out to Andreas Hödle for feedback.ģ CONTENTS CONTENTS Contents 1 Introduction 6 2 Setup 6 3 Network Network interfaces Hostname DNS Hosts NTP MTA setup Main settings Advanced settings sasl passwords MTA config file Users User preferences General S/MIME PGP PDF Password (R) Encryption subject trigger Signing Advanced settings General S/MIME PGP PDF Encryption header trigger Signing header trigger Signing subject trigger Password One time password (OTP) Security info Subject filter CA Other Global advanced settings Security info Subject filter Mobile SMS Portal PDF settings Cover pageĤ CONTENTS CONTENTS Attachments Portal Other settings Domains 41 7 Templates 41 8 Certificates Importing Certificates Importing keys Download certificates and keys S/MIME PKI X.509 certificate Revocation checking Certificate selection Encryption certificate selection Signing certificate selection Additional certificates Certificate Revocation List Certificate Trust List Certificate Authority (CA) Create new CA CA settings Certificate Request Handlers built-in certificate request handler delayed built-in certificate request handler Create new end-user certificate Select default CA Pending requests Bulk request Create CRL Send certificates OpenPGP Importing keys Creating keys Search keys Key servers Key details Key trust Publish public key addresses domains Revoke keyĥ CONTENTS CONTENTS 14.10Key selection encryption key signing key PDF encryption Encrypted PDF message Replying DLP SMS gateway Clickatell transport Mail Queues Logging Administrators Roles Backup and restore System backup Backup configuration SMB share settings Automatic backup Other Log export Log export config SMB share settings Automatic log export Other SSL certificate manager Proxy Fetchmail Fetchmail manager Global settings Applying changes Adding a new account System runtime control Compose test Extract text from a MIME message 96 A SMTP HELO/EHLO name 100 B SASL authentication 100 4Ħ CONTENTS CONTENTS C Content and virus scanning 102 D Cron Expressions 105 E MPA mail flow 106 F Comodo certificate request handler 126 F.1 Tier details G Bulk import 126 G.1 Examples CSVħ 2 SETUP 1 Introduction Ciphermail encryption server is an gateway (MTA) that encrypts and decrypts your incoming and outgoing. 1 CIPHERMAIL ENCRYPTION Ciphermail Gateway Administration Guide September 23, 2014, Rev: 9112Ģ Copyright,. ![]()
